Chapter 5 - The Queen of the Dynasty (The End)

Six months later.

The warm spring sun broke brilliantly over the historic skyline of Chicago, casting a golden light across the grand courtyard of the Moretti estate.

The sprawling mansion, once filled with cold shadows, fear, and paranoia, was now alive with vibrant beauty. Thousands of fresh white roses draped from the marble balconies, soft violin music echoed through the gardens, and the grand ballroom was decorated for a historic celebration.

Over three hundred high-society guests, regional syndicate captains, political leaders, and international allies had gathered in the main hall. The Vance family’s operations in New York had been completely dismantled, Lorenzo was serving a life sentence in an overseas prison, and the Moretti empire was more powerful, stable, and respected than ever before.

Standing near the front of the grand altar in a sharp, hand-tailored black tuxedo was Dominic Moretti.

He looked magnificent—healthy, powerful, his dark eyes glowing with a quiet, unshakeable happiness as he stood beside his best man, Raphael.

The heavy double mahogany doors of the ballroom swung wide open.

Soft, romantic music filled the air, and a collective, breathless gasp swept through the entire assembly.

I walked down the long white carpet, wearing a breathtaking, custom-designed silk wedding gown with a long lace train that sparkled under the crystal chandeliers. My hair was styled in soft, radiant waves, a delicate diamond tiara resting atop my head.

Beside me, walking me down the aisle with tears of genuine joy in his eyes, was Dr. Ferraro, who had officially stepped in to act as my father figure for the day.

I looked up toward the altar, and my eyes locked onto Dominic.

The cold, terrifying Mafia Don was looking at me as if I were the only person existing in the entire universe. Tears glistened in his dark eyes as he watched me approach him, his broad chest heaving with deep emotion.

When I reached the altar, Dominic stepped forward, taking my soft hands into his large, warm grip. He leaned down slightly, whispering into my ear, “You take my breath away, my beautiful Queen.”

“You don't look too bad yourself, Don Moretti,” I murmured back with a radiant smile.

The ceremony was breathtaking, filled with solemn vows, deep honor, and a love that had survived betrayal, poison, and war.

“By the power vested in me,” the judge declared loudly, smiling at the crowd, “I now pronounce you husband and wife! Mr. Moretti, you may kiss your bride!”

Dominic didn't hesitate for a single fraction of a second. He pulled me gently into his broad arms, dipping me back slightly as he captured my lips in a deep, passionate, breathtaking kiss that sent a wave of thunderous applause and cheers echoing through the entire mansion!

Raphael, standing beside us, raised his glass high into the air, shouting over the roar of the crowd: “To Don Dominic and Queen Lucy! Long live the Moretti family!”

“LONG LIVE THE MORETTI FAMILY!” the entire assembly roared in unison, clinking their crystal glasses together in grand celebration!

Later that evening, as the silver stars began to twinkle over the quiet waters of Lake Michigan, Dominic and I stood together on the private master balcony, looking out over the peaceful city.

The cool night breeze swept across the balcony, lifting the lace of my dress.

Dominic wrapped his broad arms gently around my waist from behind, pulling me flush against his warm chest, resting his chin softly against my shoulder, pressing a tender kiss against my neck.

“What are you thinking about, Mrs. Moretti?” Dominic murmured softly into my ear, his deep voice filling my heart with an overwhelming sense of warmth, security, and peace.

I set my hands over his on my waist, looking down at the magnificent, flawless diamond ring shining brightly on my finger.

“I was thinking about the day I noticed your hands shaking,” I murmured with a soft, warm laugh, turning around in his arms to look up into his handsome face. “I was so terrified you were going to fire me... or worse.”

Dominic smiled deeply, his dark eyes glowing with an eternal, unbroken devotion as he pulled me closer against his beating heart.

“I was never going to fire you, Lucy,” Dominic whispered against my lips, framing my face in his broad hands. “You exposed my lie... and in doing so, you saved my life, my empire, and my soul.”

He leaned down and captured my lips in a slow, sweet, breathtaking kiss under the starlight, binding our hearts together for all eternity.

And standing high above the city, wrapped in the arms of the man who ruled Chicago, the former maid reigned triumphant—not as a servant, but as the cherished, undisputed Queen of the Moretti dynasty forever.
