Chapter 5 - The True Queen of Chicago (The End)

Six months later.

The Cathedral of the Holy Name in downtown Chicago was packed to absolute capacity with over five hundred high-society guests, international diplomats, and powerful syndicate heads from across North America.

The cathedral was lavishly decorated with thousands of white orchids, glowing candlelight, and gold trim—a scene of pure, unmatched majesty.

At the end of the long marble aisle stood Vincent Castellano. He looked extraordinarily handsome in a bespoke black tuxedo, his dark eyes glowing with a intense, profound joy that no one in the underworld had ever witnessed in him before.

Standing beside him as his best man was Leo, wearing a wide, proud smile.

Suddenly, the grand pipe organ erupted into a triumphant, breathtaking wedding march.

The massive oak doors at the back of the cathedral swung wide open.

A collective gasp echoed through the five hundred guests as Penelope Abbott stepped onto the white runner, holding a bouquet of rare dark roses.

She was an absolute vision of regal, breathtaking beauty.

Her custom Italian silk wedding gown was a masterpiece designed specifically to celebrate and flatter her soft, voluptuous curves, featuring a sweeping train studded with delicate pearls, a flattering off-the-shoulder neckline, and a corseted waist that highlighted her stunning hourglass silhouette. Her dark hair was styled in intricate, regal braids crowned with a diamond tiara that sparkled brilliantly under the cathedral lights.

She walked down the aisle with absolute grace, her chin held high, her eyes locked entirely onto the man waiting for her at the altar.

Beside her, holding her arm with immense pride, was the retired chief judge of Illinois—a man Vincent had personally asked to walk Penny down the aisle to give her the honor she truly deserved.

When she finally reached the altar, Vincent stepped forward, taking both of her soft hands in his. He didn't wait for the priest to finish his opening remarks; he simply leaned in and whispered softly into her ear, "You are the most beautiful vision in this world, my Queen."

Penny smiled radiantly, tears of pure, overwhelming happiness sparkling in her eyes. "And you are mine, Vincent."

The priest conducted a solemn, beautiful ceremony, blessing a union built not on corrupt political mergers or forced blood-debts, but on fierce loyalty, deep mutual respect, and unyielding love.

"By the power vested in me," the priest announced proudly, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride."

Vincent didn't hesitate for a single microsecond. He pulled Penny into his broad arms, dipping her back slightly, and kissed her with a fierce, breathtaking passion that sent a wave of thunderous applause echoing through the grand cathedral.

That evening, at the lavish wedding reception hosted at the Castellano lakeside estate, the couple stood together on the grand balcony overlooking the illuminated gardens.

The estate that had once been her prison was now her home. The people who had once ignored her or treated her like furniture now bowed their heads in genuine respect to the most powerful, brilliant woman in Chicago.

Vincent wrapped his arms around Penny's waist from behind, resting his chin gently on her shoulder as they watched the fireworks light up the night sky over Lake Michigan.

"What are you thinking about, Mrs. Castellano?" Vincent murmured softly into her ear, sliding a massive, flawless emerald ring onto her finger.

Penny leaned back against his broad chest, smiling as she watched the brilliant green and gold lights reflect over the dark water.

"I'm thinking about the day you broke down my apartment door with a gun," Penny whispered with a soft laugh. "You came looking for a traitor... and you ended up giving me a kingdom."

Vincent turned her around in his arms, looking down at his wife with absolute, eternal devotion.

"You were never just part of the kingdom, my love," Vincent stated softly, kissing her forehead. "You are the brain, the heart, and the absolute ruler of it."

As the fireworks thundered triumphantly across the Chicago skyline, the former maid and the Mafia boss held each other tightly, stepping into a grand, unbroken legacy built on true love, unstoppable intelligence, and an everlasting future.
