Chapter 3 - The Ultimate Betrayal Within the Five Families and the Gathering Storm"You arrogant little fool," Sylvio hissed, stepping forward as his face turned pale with a mixture of rage and terror. "You think walking in here with your father's ring gives you leverage? The Rossi family was wiped out twenty years ago! You are nothing more than a stray dog wandering into a pack of wolves!"

Sophie didn't even blink. She picked up her water glass, took a slow sip, and set it down with a sharp click that cut through Sylvio's rant.
"A stray dog?" Sophie smiled, her eyes flashing with a dangerous, dark amusement. "Sylvio, my dear uncle's former lapdog, you always were a bit slow on the uptake. Do you really think I spent the last three years hiding in Tribeca because I had nowhere else to go? Leveta is owned by the front company that holds the keys to the entire New York laundering network. And every single transaction your precious 'Teflon Don' has made over the last decade has been routed through my terminal."
Lorenzo’s eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. He slowly lowered himself back into his chair, locking eyes with her. The air in the penthouse grew thick and suffocating.
"You're bluffing," Lorenzo growled, though a tiny bead of sweat formed on his forehead. "If you had access to our books, the FBI would have raided us months ago."
"The FBI?" Sophie let out a soft, mocking laugh. "Federal agents are clumsy, Lorenzo. They look for money trails and wire transfers. They don't look at ancient Sicilian shipping manifests and agricultural export codes—the exact codes my father created, and the exact codes I memorized before I was ten years old. I haven't been running from you. I've been watching you run in circles, waiting for you to make a fatal mistake."
Before Lorenzo could answer, his secure satellite phone on the table began to buzz violently.
Mateo stepped forward, picked up the phone, and listened for a few seconds. As he listened, all the color drained from his face. He looked at Lorenzo with sheer horror in his eyes.
"Don Moretti..." Mateo choked out, his voice trembling. "It's the Brooklyn docks... and the warehouse district in Queens. Federal agents, accompanied by Interpol, just raided every single storage facility. They didn't just seize our cargo... they locked down the primary master accounts. Every single cent... it's all frozen."
Sylvio staggered backward, clutching the edge of the dining table for support. "Frozen? How is that possible? Only the supreme council keys can unlock those master accounts!"
Sophie slowly stood up from her chair, smoothing down the front of her charcoal jacket. She looked down at Lorenzo Moretti, who was now staring at her with unadulterated fury and disbelief.

"My father taught me one very important lesson before he died," Sophie whispered softly, leaning over the table toward the aging Mafia kingpin. "Never underestimate someone who has nothing left to lose. And never, ever mock a woman in her own language."
Lorenzo slammed his fists onto the table, standing up so fast his chair flipped backward. "Kill her!" he roared to his guards. "Kill her right now!"
