Chapter 4 - The Penthouse Showdown and the Turning of the TideThe moment Lorenzo gave the command, Mateo drew his weapon, aiming directly at Sophie's chest. But before his finger could squeeze the trigger, the heavy glass balcony doors shattered inward with a deafening crash.

Flashbang grenades rolled across the marble floor, filling the penthouse with blinding white light and a thunderous roar. The guards screamed, dropping their weapons as disoriented chaos erupted in the suite.
Before the smoke could even begin to clear, tactical operatives in black gear swarmed through the shattered balcony and the main doors, subduing Lorenzo’s men in seconds. Mateo was slammed hard against the floor, his gun skittering across the room.
In the center of the chaos stood a tall, broad-shouldered man wearing an expensive custom suit, holding a federal badge in one hand and a secure encrypted tablet in the other. It was Special Agent Marcus Vance of the organized crime task force—and Sophie's closest childhood friend from Sicily, whom she had secretly coordinated with for the past three years.
Marcus walked past the groaning guards, stopped right in front of Sophie, and gave her a respectful nod.
"Good evening, Commander Rossi," Marcus said formally. "The operation is complete. All five family leaders in New York have simultaneous arrest warrants executed at this very moment."
Lorenzo Moretti stood frozen in the middle of the wreckage, his hands empty, his empire crumbled to dust in less than five minutes. He looked from Marcus to Sophie, realization finally washing over him like a tidal wave.
"You... you weren't hiding from us," Lorenzo breathed, his voice cracking with defeated rage. "You were building an army."
Sophie walked slowly toward him, her heels clicking rhythmically against the ruined floor. She stopped just a foot away, looking down at the most feared man in New York with absolute pity.
"You killed my father, destroyed my family, and thought you could rule the underworld unchecked," Sophie said quietly, her voice steady and cold as ice. "You forgot one cardinal rule of the old country, Lorenzo: the bloodline never dies. It only waits for the right moment to reclaim its throne."

Marcus stepped forward, pulling out a pair of cold steel handcuffs and snapping them firmly around Lorenzo Moretti’s wrists. The mighty Teflon Don, the untouchable Wolf of New York, was finally caged.
Sylvio was dragged away by federal agents, cursing and shouting into the empty air. As Lorenzo was hauled toward the elevators, he turned his head back for one last look at the woman who had brought down an empire with nothing more than a sharp mind and a waitress's uniform. Sophie simply gave him a polite, chilling smile—the exact same smile he had given her in the restaurant just two nights before.
