Chapter 2 - The Breached Dining Room, the Terrified Traitor Fiancée, and the Underworld Boss’s Cold-Blooded Execution OrderThe glass panels of the restaurant entryway shattered inward as Matteo and six elite Russo enforcers swarmed into the dining room with tactical precision, automatic weapons raised and locked onto targets.

Panic exploded among the few remaining wealthy patrons. Screams echoed off the Murano chandeliers as wealthy socialites dove beneath white linen tables, shielding their faces.

At Table 4, Tommy Lombardi and his two Vitiello enforcers reacted instantly, ripping off their heavy wool overcoats and lunging for the suppressed firearms holstered beneath their arms.

They never cleared leather.

Before Tommy could grip his weapon, a volley of synchronized fire from the Russo strike team dropped the three hitmen where they stood, sending them crashing lifelessly against the floorboards. Across the room at Table 7, the two remaining Vitiello operatives met the exact same swift, definitive fate.

The entire firefight lasted less than four seconds.

Silence rushed back into the dining room, broken only by the thin, terrified whimpers of patrons hiding under tables and the heavy smell of cordite drifting through the air.

At the center table, Vincent Russo hadn't flinched an inch. He remained seated, still holding Khloe’s cold, trembling hand within his grasp.

Khloe’s face had turned the color of bleached bone. Her emerald-green gown seemed to swallow her as she stared in absolute horror at the bodies pooling blood across the restaurant floor.

“V-Vincent... what is happening?!” Khloe choked out, her voice pitching into a hysterical shriek. “Call the police! There are killers—!”

“Quiet, Khloe,” Vincent said.

His voice was no longer conversational. It was a low, terrifying growl that carried the absolute weight of an executioner.

Khloe swallowed hard, trying to pull her hand away, but Vincent’s grip was like an industrial vice. “Why are you looking at me like that? Let me go, we need to get out of here!”

“You told Tommy Lombardi to tap his index finger twice,” Vincent stated quietly, leaning forward across the ivory tablecloth. “You insisted we reserve this exact exposed table. You made sure my private security detail remained outside the perimeter. And your father liquidated thirty million in assets last week to fund the Vitiello family’s expansion.”

Color drained completely from Khloe’s lips. The mask of devoted fiancée shattered into a million irreparable pieces. “You... you don't know what you’re saying—!”

“I know everything,” Vincent interrupted coldly. He raised his free hand and signaled Matteo, who strode over to the table carrying a secure, open-line encrypted tablet. On the screen was a recorded bank transfer log showing the thirty-million-dollar routing from Davenport Shipping directly to a shell company controlled by Dante Vitiello.

Khloe stared at the screen, her breathing turning into ragged, shallow gasps. The game was over. Her betrayal had been completely unmasked.

“You were going to let them slaughter me so your father could absorb our port contracts,” Vincent said, his gray eyes shining with liquid ice. “You sold our engagement for a corporate merger with a rival syndicate.”

“They forced me!” Khloe shrieked, breaking down completely as tears streamed mascara down her face. “The Vitiellos threatened to ruin us! Please, Vincent, we’ve been together for two years, you love me—!”

“I loved the woman I thought you were,” Vincent corrected, his voice devoid of all human warmth. He slowly released her hand, pushing himself up to his full, imposing height. “The woman sitting in front of me is nothing more than a corpse waiting for a grave.”

He turned away from her, looking toward the kitchen doors where the restaurant staff had huddled in sheer terror.

“Matteo,” Vincent commanded.

“Boss?”

“Lock her in the Newark holding facility until her father arrives to discuss his corporate liquidation,” Vincent ordered coldly. “As for the restaurant staff... bring the waitress who served Table 4 to me. Immediately.”
