Chapter 5

On a crisp Saturday afternoon, the sun streamed through the massive glass windows of the penthouse suite. Camila stood on the private balcony, wrapped in a soft cashmere robe, looking down at the bustling entrance of the hotel where people of all backgrounds smiled and laughed as they walked through the revolving doors.
Strong, warm arms wrapped around her waist from behind, pulling her flush against a solid, familiar chest. Adrien rested his chin gently on her shoulder, breathing in the scent of vanilla and jasmine in her hair.
"Penny for your thoughts, my queen?" Adrien murmured, kissing her neck softly.
Camila smiled, leaning back against him and placing her hands over his. "I was just thinking about that first day. The marble floor, my scattered keys, and how terrified Patricia looked when you stepped out of the elevator."
Adrien chuckled, a deep, rumbling sound that vibrated against her back. "She deserved every single second of it. No one touches my wife, and no one ever disrespects the woman who rules my world."
"You know," Camila turned in his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck and looking up into his dark, devoted eyes, "if you hadn't shown up right when you did, I probably would have had to break Frank's nose myself."

Adrien’s eyes danced with genuine amusement and fierce adoration. "Knowing you, bella, you actually would have. And I would have happily hired the best defense attorney in the country to get you off."
They both laughed, the sound warm and light, echoing out over the magnificent city below them. The bitter cold of that initial humiliation was a distant memory, completely washed away by the unbreakable strength of their love. Hand in hand, they walked back inside, ready to rule their empire together, forever protected by a bond that no snob, no system, and no enemy could ever break.
