Chapter 3
Celeste fell to her knees,
sobbing into her manicured hands.
She begged for some mercy,
claiming she knew nothing at all.
Adrian looked down at her,
feeling nothing but pure disgust.
He pressed another small button,
switching the video feed again.
This time Celeste appeared,
talking on her cell phone.
She was discussing the will,
and the money she would inherit.
She mentioned Leo passing away,
calling it a tragic relief.
The recording was loud,
filling the entire silent room.
Celeste stopped crying instantly,
staring at the large screen.
Her lies were completely exposed,
leaving her with no defense.
Philip tried to run away,
rushing toward the glass windows.
He grabbed a heavy vase,
smashing it against the pane.
The glass did not break,
bouncing the vase right back.
Adrian had installed bulletproof glass,
anticipating this exact desperate reaction.
Philip fell to the floor,
holding his bruised right shoulder.
He cursed his younger brother,
yelling vicious and cruel insults.
Beatrice finally stepped forward,
trying to regain her control.
She used her motherly voice,
hoping to manipulate him again.
She said it was a mistake,
a misunderstanding of the facts.
Adrian laughed a bitter laugh,
shaking his head in disbelief.
He told her to stop talking,
tired of her endless manipulation.
He walked over to the table,
pulling out a black light.
He turned the bright beam,
pointing it at Philip's hands.
The skin glowed a toxic green,
proving he touched the medicine.
He pointed it at Celeste,
whose fingers also glowed brightly.
Even Beatrice had glowing spots,
ruining her innocent calm facade.
They were all deeply involved,
sharing the blame and guilt.
Adrian felt a heavy sorrow,
realizing his family was truly gone.
They were just greedy strangers,
willing to kill a child.

He turned his back on them,
knowing the police were coming.
