Chapter 19 - THE CIVIL ORDER

My temporary protective order against Dorothy became a longer, time-limited order after hearing.

Facts:

She intentionally shoved me into the changing room.

Locked the exterior door.

Knew I was thirty-four weeks pregnant.

Heard me demand release.

Did not open.

Delayed my access to others for several minutes.

After Dad freed me and I disclosed ruptured membranes, she physically blocked the exit and argued I should wait until after the ceremony.

Specific.

The order prohibited:

Direct contact with me.

Entry into my residence.

Third-party pressure.

Presence at my obstetric or pediatric appointments.

Unsupervised contact with Elena.

Any contact with Elena required both parents’ written agreement and later review.

No lifetime exile.

No automatic grandparent rights battle.

Ethan supported the order.

Dorothy looked at him across the courtroom.

“You would do this to your mother?”

He answered:

“No. I am doing this because of what you did to my wife.”

That was one of the first times he separated action from family title.

Dorothy cried.

The order remained.
