Chapter 23 - LUCINDA FINDS ANOTHER ROLE

Lucinda stayed away from family governance for years.

Then a museum asked her to organize donor events.

She was good.

Excellent, actually.

Scheduling.

Taste.

Relationships.

No safety authority.

No insurance claims.

No children’s medical devices.

She rebuilt professional identity somewhere her worst instincts had less room to masquerade as expertise.

At sixty, she told me:

“I thought losing the club meant losing myself.”

“Yes.”

“You knew?”

“Everyone except you knew.”

She smiled sadly.

May you like

“Cruel.”

“Family.”
